Who Is Twizz Matic?
TwizzMatic was born in Philadelphia in eastern Pennsylvania in 1986. Taking after his father Anthony “Spike” McRae who is a drummer from the North side of Philadelphia, his interest in rhythm began fairly early. Growing up in church earned him a front row seat to the genius of Gospel music but during his teenage years he would make tapes of his favorite Hip-Hop or R&B songs and learn the words.
Aside from him studying theater at the High School for Creative And Performing Arts, it wasn’t until then at the age of 14 that he started writing and producing music using a computer software called “FL Studio”. In 2005 he furthered his knowledge in Music Production/Engineering when he attended The Recording Workshop (Chillicothe Ohio) and received his certification in Sound Engineering.
Upon returning to Philadelphia, Twizz focused on producing himself as well as other artists and coaching them throughout the songwriting and recording process, gaining experience simultaneously. Figuring things out just came natural. He understands that greatness is not only achieved by how YOU perform but also by how others perform around you. Producer, writer, recording artist, sound engineer and vocal coach are all titles that MUST work together and learning the job of each one helps the other. “If you focus on what you need, you’ll get what you want”.
